Do I need an appointment?
Booking is advisory to avoid disappointment. We will try to accommodate all walk ins but there may be a short wait.
What do I get when I hire a suit at Mike O’Connell’s?
All suits we rent out come with the two or three piece suit, hire shirt and bow or tie. Unfortunately, due to hygiene standards we are unable to offer shoe rental. Shoes are available for sale.
How far in advance should I come in to get measured?
To ensure the measurements are accurate, we recommend that you visit us 2-3 weeks prior to the event to get measured. If your suit is required urgently, please don’t hesitate to contact us or visit us. We will prioritise your request and do everything we can to ensure it’s prepared with the utmost speed and care.
For weddings, we can arrange a preliminary fitting session to alleviate some of the stress. Final fittings may be required to ensure the suits are of the highest standard and fit correctly.
We understand that funerals are an emotional time, often accompanied by short notice and added stress. With this in mind, you are welcome to visit at your convenience, and we will make every effort to have your suits prepared as promptly as possible. Should alterations be required, our express tailoring service is available to ensure your attire is ready in time, without compromise on quality or care.
When should I collect the suit?
We offer flexible collection options for your suits. Should you prefer, you may collect them on the morning of the event or a day or two in advance, whichever best suits your schedule.
When should I return the suit?
You are welcome to return the suit at your own convenience. If required, we offer a collection service at various hotels in the local area. Please contact us via email and we will arrange a pickup from reception at your hotel.
When should I pay for the suit?
We’re pleased to offer flexible payment options for your convenience. You’re welcome to settle your balance at the time of your fitting, upon collection, or when returning the suit, whichever suits you best.
What happens if the suit is damaged or stained?
Minor wear is expected, but significant damage or stains may incur a repair or replacement fee. We’ll always assess each case individually and fairly.
What if my event is cancelled or rescheduled?
If the event is cancelled and the suit is already paid for, please contact us as early as possible and we would be happy to offer store credit. If the event is rescheduled, please get in touch and we would be happy to change the booking to suit the change, depending on availability.
What if my event is outside of Ireland?
There is no additional charge for events outside of Ireland. We would ask that you let us know so that we can provide you with a suit bag and inform you of how to ensure the suit stays clean and in good condition.
